Criminal Acts: Stun-gun Threat, Fraud and Assault

The following incidents were supplied by the Gilroy Police Department. The arrest information does not indicate convictions.

Gilroy police responded to an assortment of calls from Sunday through Thursday, from car accidents to fraud to assault. Here’s a selection from the latest press report. 

Wednesday, Feb. 1
12: 24 p.m.—A 22 year-old male attempted to steal over $500 worth of items from Target and Khol’s. Police apprehended the man after he attempted to flee out of the fire exit of Target.

Tuesday, Jan. 31
12 p.m.—Another counterfeit bill was reported on Camino Arroyo.

4:15 p.m.—A victim was attacked by two or three subjects while walking home from school around the area of Miller Avenue and Uvas Park Drive.

Monday, Jan. 30
7:30 p.m.—A residence on Creekside Court was burglarized. The suspect took a video-game system, jewelry and a laptop. In total, the suspect(s) stole over $2,400 worth of items.

6:30 p.m.—Deputies pulled over a vehicle around the area of Kennedy Court and Murray Avenue and determined that the vehicle had been stolen out of San Jose. Deputies also determined that there were several stolen items in the vehicle that had been taken from nearby vehicles.

5:24 p.m.—A subject threatened a victim with a stun-gun on Third Street after the victim’s small dog barked at the subject.

3:15 p.m.—A verbal argument on Church Street escalated into a physical fight with the victim sustaining bruising to her face. She was also grabbed by the suspect, who fled the scene before police arrived. The suspect is still outstanding.

8:30 a.m.—An unknown suspect stole a victim’s credit card on Church Street and made fraudulent transactions with it at various stores in Gilroy.

Friday, Jan. 27
8 a.m.—Unknown suspects used a victim’s credit card to obtain goods at the Pilot Store in Arizona and Oklahoma.

Thursday, Jan. 19
12 p.m.—An unknown suspect used a victim’s credit card number on Delta Drive.
