Caltrain Originally indicated that the body was found in Gilroy. It was actually found in San Jose. The story has been corrected.
A dead female body was found at 9:50 a.m monday on the southbound train tracks between the Diridon and Tamien stations in San Jose.
At 10:45, emergency personnel and the county coroner were on scene.
The circumstances of the incident are under investigation, Caltrain Public Information Officer Christine Dunn said.
Northbound service isn't scheduled until 2:33 p.m. Because trains are scarce during the day on Mondays, general service is not expected to be delayed by the incident.
