Driver from Wednesday Crash Remains in Critical Condition

As of Friday afternoon, the 19-year-old driver was still in the intensive care unit at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center.

The driver of the vehicle from Wednesday night's car crash remains in the hospital with life-threatening injuries, after firefighters extricated him from the vehicle.

As of Friday afternoon, the 19-year-old Hollister resident is still in the intensive care unit at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center.

Jose Bravo, 20, also of Hollister, was the passenger in the vehicle that was going south on Camino Arroyo when it slammed into a tree on the 7900 block, near Leavesley Road and U.S. Highway 101 on Wednesday night, police Sgt. Wes Stanford said.

Bravo was transported to Regional Medical Center of San Jose, where he later died.

Investigators are trying to determine what caused the crash, including whether alcohol or other intoxicants may have been a factor.
