Firefighters have extinguished a grass fire that flared up after
flames destroyed a home near the Uvas Reservoir this afternoon, a Cal Fire
spokesman said.
The fire gutted a single-family manufactured home in the 15500 block of Uvas Road, outside of Morgan Hill. When crews arrived, the home was engulfed in flames, Cal Fire Division Chief Jim Crawford said.
The flames spread to nearby vegetation and burned about 2 acres. As of 2:40 p.m., the fire was 40 percent contained, he said.
No injuries have been reported.
