A wanted man continues to elude Gilroy police, continuing his lawbreaking ways this week.

According to Sgt. Pedro Espinoza, Diaz and his girlfriend were arguing outside of a car in Gilroy monday morning. The woman tried to walk away but he grabbed her by the hair and forced her back into the car.

Diaz then got in the driver's seat and began driving erratically. He reclined his seat so that the girlfriend would not have access to the rear door to jump out of the car, Espinoza said.

He eventually lost control of the car, crashing it on the 7500 block of Laurel Drive, where the woman got out and yelled for help, luckily without injury. Witnesses came to her aid and Diaz fled the scene on foot.

Diaz was last seen wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and a black and red baseball hat. The booking photo above is old. Espinoza said Diaz now has long hair.
