A crash in unincorporated Gilroy claimed the life of one person and critically injured another, it was reported Saturday.

The crash was reported about 8:30 p.m. Friday at Center Avenue, near Omar Avenue, according to the San Jose Mercury News.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene and the Santa Clara County coroner was called, mercurynews.com reported.

According to reports, another person was airlifted in critical condition to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center.

Reports indicated a vehicle crashed into a tree.
