Gilroy Bedroom Ransacked in Weekend Burglary

Police believe that the burglar knows the victim.

Police are investigating a home break-in that occurred over the weekend, Sgt. Pedro Espinoza told Gilroy Patch.

An unknown person entered the residence on the 300 block of 4th Street through a rear sliding door and then "ransacked the back bedroom," Espinoza said.

Nothing was stolen, but the room was left in disarray.

"My guess is that this was not random," Espinoza said. "Either what they were looking for was not there or they got scared away."

The break-in was reported by another tenant in the residence, who Espinoza said told police that perhaps the burglar was seeking some sort of "retribution."
