Gilroy Police Arrest One Suspect in Armed Robbery, Search for Second

Suspect found with large kitchen knife, and another is still sought by police.

Gilroy police are still looking for a second suspect Monday night after an attempted armed robbery.

The first suspect in the incident, Darrell Gentry, was arrested near the crime scene with a large kitchen knife earlier in the day, according to police.

Gilroy police officers were called to the 8300 block of Arroyo Circle on a report of attempted robbery when they found Gentry not far away.

According to police, Gentry was found to be in possession of a large kitchen knife and a communication device, and he matched the description of the suspect.

Gentry was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail on charges of attempted robbery and possession of a dangerous weapon.
