Reports of car crashes, stabbings, vandalism, and shoplifting keep police in Gilroy busy.

Thursday, Dec. 6
8:36 a.m. Police found dead raccoons at Rancho Hills Drive and Valley Oaks Drive.
1:30 p.m. The victim was walking on Lewis Street, just east of Monterey. As he passed the suspect who was holding a fixed knife, the suspect stabbed the victim. The incident was unprovoked.
7:48 p.m. Victim was stabbed one time in the lower abdomen by a known assailant on Eigleberry Street and Third Street.
11:00 p.m. Unknown suspect used unknown means to gain admittance to the suspect’s vehicle, without the victim’s permission on Swanston Lane.
Friday, Dec. 7
8:15 a.m. There was a non-injury traffic collision at Oak Brook Way and Thompson Road.
3:13 p.m. There was a non-injury traffic collision at Longmeadow Drive and Santa Teresa Boulevard.
5:38 p.m. A suspect under arrest for petty theft and was found with 14.01 g of methamphetamine. He ran from officers and was apprehended at First Street.
10:02 p.m. A suspect tried to steal merchandise by concealing the items in her large black purse. She was placed under citizen’s arrest when she exited the store at Chestnut Street.
Saturday, Dec. 8
4:23 p.m. A suspect was arrested for fleeing from police, possession of burglary tools and a parole violation on Ioof Ave.
9:10 p.m. Two suspects were arrested for shoplifting and conspiracy on Camino Arroyo.
5 p.m. There was broken front door glass, but the circumstances are unknown.
Sunday, Dec. 9
9:48 a.m. Unknown persons vandalized the City park lawn (Carriage Park) by doing donuts on the grass with their car, causing $700 worth of damage.
6:30 p.m. Unknown suspect stole several food items and when confronted fled the scene at Camino Arroyo.
7:48 p.m. A man involved in a single-vehicle traffic collision at E. Las Animas Ave and San Ysidro Ave. was subsequently arrested for a DUI.
