Gilroy Police Blotter: Oct. 7-13

Reports of vehicle thefts, assaults, missing people and residential burglaries keep police in Gilroy busy.

 

Selected police reports from the past week:

Sunday, Oct. 7

11:58 a.m. – Police responded to a report of an assault on the 7300 Block of Monterey St.

12:59 p.m. – Police responded to a report about a missing juvenile on the 7400 Block of Rogers Lane.

2:59 p.m. – Police arrested a suspect on an outstanding warrant at Leavesley Road and Monterey Street.

6:05 p.m. – Police responded to a report about a missing juvenile on the 500 Block of Polk Court.

6:56 p.m. -- Police responded to a report of a grand theft on the 8300 Block of Arroyo Circle.

10:48 p.m.
– Police responded to a report of a missing juvenile on the 6400 Block of Church St.

 

Monday, Oct. 8

8:07 a.m. – Police responded to a report of items taken from a vehicle on the 6400 Block of Village Place.

9:02 a.m. – Police responded to a grand theft report on the 6400 Block of Village Place.

10:46 a.m. – Police responded to a report of items taken from a vehicle on the 6400 Block of Riverview Circle.

 

Tuesday, Oct. 9

8:57 a.m. – Police responded to a report of a commercial burglary on the 1500 Block of Mantelli Drive.


Wednesday, Oct. 10

9:30 a.m. – Police responded to a report of items taken from a vehicle on the 300 Block of Obata Court.

10:10 a.m. – Police responded to a report of items taken from a vehicle at East Eighth and Forest streets.

11:04 a.m. – Police responded to a report of items taken from a vehicle on the 7500 Block of Rogers Lane.

4:35 p.m. – Police responded to a report of a breaking and entering residential burglary on the 7300 Block of Alexander St.

8:30 p.m. – An auto burglary was reported on the 8600 Block of San Ysidro Ave.

 

Thursday, Oct. 11

12:03 p.m. – A pet was reported stolen from a residence on the 6600 Block of Princevalle St.

1:38 p.m. -- Police responded to a report of a breaking and entering residential burglary on the 700 Block of Babbs Creek Drive.

 

Friday, Oct. 12

10:16 a.m. -- A pet was reported stolen from a residence on the 8400 Block of Church St.

1:30 p.m. – Police responded to a report of a missing juvenile on the 7500 Block of Rogers Lane.

10:57 p.m. Police responded to a report of items taken from a vehicle at West 10th and Rosanna streets.

 

Saturday, Oct. 13

8:39 a.m. – Police responded to a report of a residential burglary on the 7300 Block of Wren Ave.

10:19 p.m. – Police responded to a report of an assault on the 7700 Block of Wren Ave.

10:56 a.m. – Police responded to a report of a stolen vehicle on the 600 Block of East Seventh St.

7:55 p.m. – Police responded to a report of a sexual assault involving a child on the 7200 Block of Monterey St.

Also, it would take some work but couldn't the books be divided up and put into the classrooms? OrRead More is it because they were bought as library books with the library grant they have to stay in the library. It will be very embarrassing to tell book vendors that Luigi Aprea does not have a library anymore.

I don't know why the parents club can't run the library. They would have to be trained with theRead More computer library program but I'm sure there would be parents that would be willing to do that. It is very sad that just because we can't hire a librarian that the students have to loose out. That does not seem fair to me. I thought the students were supposed to come first and not be denied services due to a budget shortfall. We were promised that the budget would not effect the classroom. I guess in this case the union is more powerful than necessary. So all those books are going to collect dust. How sad and unacceptable.

That this person actually thought this poor young girl had culpability for her attack is a symptom of our societies disregard for women. I'm actually glad he made the comment so we can look at and discuss the problem.

From one of the interviews I watched online, it seems that many Saratoga High students knew whatRead More happened at the party and had seen the pictures. How is it that arrests did not follow the assault and the suicide for over 6 months? Could it be that the students who knew information about the felony chose to remain silent? I hope that is not the case; we will surely find out as the details of the case are revealed in the media over the next weeks and months. In the meantime lets make sure we are teaching our kids about the responsibility of living in community and caring about others. God forbid that any of the students have to live with the knowledge that they could have prevented the suicide, or with the knowledge that they helped cover up such a heinous crime.
