Leavesly Road Gas Station Robbed at Gunpoint

No arrests have been made in the Wednesday afternoon heist.

A gunman held up the Chevron gas station on Leavesly Road Wednesday afternoon, Gilroy police reported.

The heist happened just before 4 p.m. when the robber entered the store, pointed a gun at the lone employee, a 20-year-old Gilroy woman, and demanded cash, police reported.

The robber got access to the store's cash register, then fled on foot north on Murray Avenue, police said.

Officers swarmed the area but didn't locate the robber.

No shots were fired.

The robber was described as a black man in his early 20s, about 6 feet, 3 inches to 6 feet, 5 inches, and 180 pounds with short-cropped hair. He was wearing prescription glasses, a gray camouflage T-shirt and blue jeans.
