Morgan Hill Gang Member Arrested After Dropping Hand Gun On School Grounds

Two boys gave false information to police and fled on foot after a traffic stop.

Morgan Hill police arrested a teen boy after he dropped a stolen handgun on the grounds of a private school in the area during a foot chase, reported the Gilroy Dispatch.

The gun was reportedly stolen from a burglary in Gilroy.

On Friday, Feb. 15 at 4 p.m., Morgan Hill Police conducted a traffic stop. The two passengers fled the vehicle after providing false information to police.

One was quickly apprehended, while the other continued to run, reported the Gilroy Dispatch. Along the way, he dropped a fixed blade knife and a .40 caliber handgun.

He was identified at the scene, and apprehended at a residence at the 100 block of W. Main Avenue two days later.

Both suspects are affiliated with a Norteno criminal gang.
