Motorcyclist Severely Injured in Collision With Car

Monday crash was reported at 3:53 p.m. near the corner of Monterey Road and Pierce Street, according to police.

A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash with a car on Gilroy streets Monday afternoon, according to police.

The crash was reported at 3:53 p.m. near the corner of Monterey Road and Pierce Street, according to police.

The motorcyclist's injuries were life-threatening and the 59-year-old Gilroy resident was taken by air ambulance to a trauma center, police said.

The driver of the car, a 22-year-old woman from Gilroy, was not injured.

Police have not determined the cause of the crash or whether drugs or alcohol may have been a factor.
