UPDATE: Traffic Returns to Normal on Hwy. 152 East Near Mt. Madonna

Two people were airlifted to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center after driving their car off the side of the road Sunday morning.

Updated at 3:38 p.m.—Traffic has now returned to normal and the car has been extracted from the side of the highway, according to a CHP dispatcher.

The California Highway Patrol is conducting one-way traffic control on Hwy. 152 East heading toward Mount Madonna as they work on extracting a vehicle that drove 100 feet off the roadway.

A CHP dispatcher that asked not to be named said that traffic is moving and the vehicle is in the process of being removed from the side of the road. The dispatcher did not know how long the extraction would take or how long the eastbound side of the highway will remain under one-way control.

The incident, which occured at 10:34 a.m., left two people injured. They were taken to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center by airlift. The dispatcher did not know the current condition of the passengers.
