Jesse Silos was killed earlier this month and the community is coming together to talk about ending gang violence in Gilroy.

In response to the gang-related homicide of Jesse Silos earlier this month in Gilroy, and continued gang violence in the area, two events have been planned to help the community find a safer way of life.

On Friday evening from 7-9 p.m., Mayor Don Gage and Councilman Peter Arellano will speak about gang violence at a community safety forum along with Christina Silos, the mother of Jesse Silos, at the MACSA Youth Center on 277 IOOF Ave.

The following morning, a peace march is planned to start at 10 a.m. at San Ysidro Park (7700 Murray Ave.).
