A 17-year-old Gilroy girl was struck and killed on state Highway 152 near Gilroy early Sunday morning, a California Highway Patrol officer told Patch.
The Santa Clara Madeical Examiner's office identified the victim as Allysa Chavez Perez. She was apparently walking near an eastbound lane when she was fatally hit by a vehicle at about 12:40 a.m., according to the CHP.
There were no immediate reports of any other injuries.
Futher details were not immediately available but the cause of the crash was under investigation.
