Police Arrest Couple on Suspicion of Armed Robbery
Two suspects were arrested for stealing beer, and threatening a store employee with a knife on Saturday.
Manuel Beltran and Dominique Espinoza, both 28, were arrested on suspicion of armed robbery Saturday night, according to a media release from the Gilroy Police Department.
Police responded to the report of armed robbery at 6:10 p.m. at the Super Save Market located at 211 First St. They were told that a female suspect concealed beer in her coat, and left the store.
A store employee then followed the woman out of the store and demanded she return the beer. But a man got out of the car and threatened the store employee with a knife, and the two suspects escaped together.

A short time later police located the suspected vehicle described by store employees. Beltran and Espinoza were in the car, and police found Espinoza in possession of a knife, the release stated.
Police recovered the allegedly stolen beer and booked the two suspects into San Jose Main Jail.
