Police Arrest Suspect of Multiple Sexual Assaults

The man, Jesse Arias, reportedly lived with the underage victim for several months.

Gilroy police have arrested a man suspected of sexually assaulting multiple women. One of the victims was an underage girl that he lived with, according to a press release from the Gilroy Police Department.

Police received a report at 7:08 p.m. Sunday that the suspect, 52-year-old Jesse Arias, had invited the older victim back to his home the previous day on the 200 block of Old Gilroy Street after meeting her at a nearby bus stop, according to the release.

While at his home, Arias reportedly sexually assaulted the 20-year-old woman while she was under the influence of an intoxicant, police said.

Police took Arias into custody on Monday, obtaining a search warrant and finding a reported runaway girl, 15, during the search of his home. The girl had been missing for several months, and police said they determined that Arias had also sexually assaulted her.

Arias was booked at the Santa Clara County Main Jail under several charges related to rape, including charges of sexual assault of a minor, according to the release.
