Police Investigate Connection After Second Shooting Incident

There were no injuries after gunmen fired into a home.

Victims told police that gunmen who fired into their home on the 800 block of Monitcelli Drive Thursday were connected with the attempted murder that , according to a press release from the Gilroy Police Department.

Police said they don’t suspect the family is connected to Wednesday's suspected gang-related incident on Lewis Street.

One member of the family noticed a suspicious group of people in the neighborhood and went to the home to warn the people inside. When the people in the group realized that their presence was known, they left the area, police said.

The group returned later, and it was just as a family member was going inside to give a second warning that the shots were fired, according to the report.

Police were already on their way to the scene when several bullets went into the home. There were no injuries, and the suspects fled before police arrived.

The department’s Anti-Crime Team “is familiar with the parties involved in both events and is actively pursuing information they have developed within the last 24 hours,” police said in the release.
