Man Stabbed Multiple Times Throughout Body

Gilroy police are investigating the stabbing of a 22-year-old man.

A 22-year-old male was treated for serious, but non-life threatening injuries at after being stabbed multiple times throughout his body, GPD Sgt. Chad Gallacinao said.

The received a call of a potential stab victim at 10:21 p.m., Thursday. The victim, whose name hasn’t been disclosed, was dropped off at St. Louise by a friend, where he was treated briefly in the emergency room before being transferred to a Bay Area trauma center.

The suspect party was apparently driving a red, 2006 Chevy, although other details, like where the stabbing took place and the suspect(s) involved, have yet to be determined.

“The victim was being elusive with multiple details surrounding the incident,” Gallacinao said. “As far as it being gang related, currently it’s unknown.”

Gallacinao said officers interviewed the victim’s friend, but that more witnesses need to be identified to continue the investigation.

“Just because the victim may not want to participate in the investigation, it doesn’t mean, through the gathering of info, that the identities of witnesses and potential suspects won’t be determined,” he said.

The victim is expected to survive, and the investigation will remain ongoing until all investigative leads have been exhausted, Gallacinao said.
