The Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office is busy handling a road rage incident that spanned multiple miles in Gilroy on Wednesday.
At 4:27 p.m., Gilroy police responded to reports of an assault at the Chevron on Leavesley Road.
According to the man reporting the crime, he was followed by a man from Highway 101 to the Chevron, where the man exited his car and slapped him to the ground, Sgt. Pedro Espinoza said.
The victim, a Fresno resident, left the area and wasn't available to identify the suspect from a line-up, but the suspect eventually admitted the crime to police, claiming that he followed the victim to Chevron after being cut off on the highway.
No arrests have been made, but Espinoza said that he is "positive" the DA will issue an arrest warrant for assault.
