Robber Hits Up Gilroy Subway Sandwich Shop

A man is at large after robbing a Subway sandwich shop in Gilroy on Tuesday night, police said Wednesday.

 Officers responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Subway shop located at 340 E. 10th St. at about 9 p.m., police said.

 Investigators learned that a man entered the restaurant, brandished a weapon and demanded money, police said.

 Police said after an employee opened the register, the suspect grabbed an undisclosed amount of cash and then fled in a car. No shots were fired and no one was injured in the robbery.

 The suspect is described as a Hispanic man in his 30s who was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. Anyone with information is asked to call Gilroy police at (408) 846-0350.
