Driving With Privileges Suspended

  • Yvette Spencer, 58, of San Jose, 3:15, at the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office, 55 W. Younger Ave. in San Jose, for a misdemeanor warrant related to driving with privileges suspended or revoked.
  • Rocio Garcia, 22, of Castro Valley, 4:30 p.m., at 35 W. Younger Ave. in San Jose, for driving when privilege is suspended or revoked. Bail set at $1,000.
  • Debra Patterson, 48, of San Jose, 4:30 p.m., at 385 Hellyer Ave. in San Jose, for three warrants related to driving with privileges suspended/revoked, failing to provide evidence of financial responsibility of vehicle and going over the maximum speed limit of 65 mph. 
  • Vicente Britt, 24, of Santa Clara, 2:40 a.m., Feb. 21, at Lawrence Expressway at Saratoga Avenue in Saratoga, for failing to provide evidence of financial responsibility of vehicle and driving with privileges suspended or revoked.
  •  Ricardo Duenas, 58, of San Clara, April 15, 1:35 p.m., at Lawrence Expressway at Saratoga Avenue in Saratoga, for failing to provide evidence of financial responsibility of vehicle, driving with privileges suspended or revoked and driving with a suspended license.

Contempt of Court

  • Bryon Lindsey, 27, of San Jose, 1:25 p.m., at the Santa Rita County Jail in Dublin, for civil misdemeanor contempt of court. Bail set at $30,000.
  • Richard Martinez, 47, of San Jose, 3 p.m., at 99 Notredame D95 in San Jose, for civil misdemeanor for contempt of court.

Burglary/Theft

  • Raymond Lewis, 54, of Oakland, 1:30 p.m., at the Santa Rita County Jail in Dublin, for three misdemeanor warrants related to second-degree burglary, four or more stolen access cards and counterfeit access card. Bail set at $5,000.
  • Daniel Ortiz, 32, of San Jose, 1:55 p.m., at the Santa Clara County Superior Court, Dept. 65, 115 Terraine St. in San Jose, for three felonies and one misdemeanor related to second-degree burglary, theft or unauthorized use of vehicle and possession of burglary tools.
  • Nijm Young, 21, of Oakland, 9 p.m., at Highway 101 and Shoreline Boulevard in Mountain View, for felony first-degree burglary, misdemeanor possession of burglary tools and felony conspiracy to commit crime. Bail set $11,000.
  • Sharnice Collins, 20, of San Francisco, 9 p.m., at Highway 101 and Shoreline Boulevard in Mountain View, for felony first-degree burglary, misdemeanor possession of burglary tools and felony conspiracy to commit crime. Bail set $11,000.

Fraud

Jonathan Cody, 33, of Oakland, 3:30 p.m., at the Santa Rita County Jail in Dublin, for a felony warrant related to use of someone else's access card account information. Bail set at $100,000.

Failure to Update Registration

James Fincher, 35, of San Jose, 1:30 p.m., at Emory Street and Coleman Avenue in San Jose, for a misdemeanor related to failure to update his registration as a transient. Bail set at $5,000.

Use/Under the Influence

Evangelina Cazares, 29, of San Jose, 3:33 p.m., at the at the Santa Clara County Superior Court, Dept. 65, 115 Terraine St. in San Jose, for a misdemeanor related to using/being user the influence of a controlled substance. Bail set at $50,000.

Possession

  • Kevin Iwatsubo, 33, of Sunnyvale, 2:30 p.m., at the Santa Clara County Superior Court, Dept. 65, 115 Terraine St. in San Jose, for the misdemeanors and felony related to using or being under the influence, possession of marijuana, possession of controlled substance/paraphernalia. Bail set at $20,000.
  • Richard Ochoa, 55, of Gilroy, 2:40 p.m. at 301 Diana at the South County Courthouse Dept. 109, in Morgan Hill, for one misdemeanor and one felony related to possession of a controlled substance. Bail set at $11,000.
  • Macaria Estores, 34, of Santa Clara, 4 p.m., at 190 W. Hedding Street and San Pedro Avenue in San Jose, for eight felony and misdemeanor warrants related to buying/receiving a stolen motor vehicle/trailer, using/under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance/paraphernalia.
  • Emmett Aguayo, 42, of San Jose, 4:06 p.m., at the Santa Clara County Superior Court, 115 Terraine St. in San Jose, for one felony related to possession of a controlled substance and two misdemeanors related to possession of a controlled substance/paraphernalia or using/being under the influence of a controlled substance. 
  • Robert Olocki, 48, of San Jose, 6:50 p.m., at 15285 Herring Ave. in San José, for felony possession of a controlled substance and suspended license.
  • Jarrod Rodriguez, 41, of San Jose, 1:10 a.m., April 16, at 150 W. Hedding Street and San Pedro Avenue in San Jose, for five felony and misdemeanor charges related to possession of a controlled substance, using/under the influence of a controlled substance and resisting, delaying, obstructing a peace officer.

Vandalism

Hector Zamorano Medina, 29, of San Martin, 6 p.m., at the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office, 55 Younger Ave. in San Jose, for a misdemeanor vandalism charge due to damage between $5,000 and $50,000. Bail set at $5,000.

Domestic Violence

Dustin Williams, 35, of San Jose, 9:16 p.m., at the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office, 55 Younger Ave. in San Jose, for a misdemeanor warrant related to inflicting corporal injury on spouse/cohabitant.

Parole Hold

Michael Alfaro, 49, of Gilroy, 7:56 p.m., at 8324 Kelton Drive in Gilroy, for a felony related to parole hold.

Probation Violation/Contribute to Delinquency of Minor/Burglary

Joshua Jetton, 20, of San Francisco, 9 p.m., at Highway 101 and Shoreline Boulevard in Mountain View, for six felony and misdemeanor charges related to rearresting due to probation violation, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, possession of stun gun, first-degree burglary, conspiracy to commit crime and possession of burglary tools.

Fireworks Without Permit/Others

John Leclere, 50, of Mountain View, 8:30 a.m., at West San Carolos Street and Almaden Boulevard in San Jose, for eight misdemeanor charges related to possession of fireworks without permit, access card fraud, false name to peace officer, use/under the influence, second-degree burglary, vandalism less than $400, trespass by entering and occupying and possession of controlled substance/paraphernalia.

False Name to Peace Officer

Brandon Bowden, 18, of Sunnyvale, 1 p.m., at 1st Ayre in San Jose, for a misdemeanor for giving false name to peace officer. Bail set at $1,000.

That this person actually thought this poor young girl had culpability for her attack is a symptom of our societies disregard for women. I'm actually glad he made the comment so we can look at and discuss the problem.

From one of the interviews I watched online, it seems that many Saratoga High students knew whatRead More happened at the party and had seen the pictures. How is it that arrests did not follow the assault and the suicide for over 6 months? Could it be that the students who knew information about the felony chose to remain silent? I hope that is not the case; we will surely find out as the details of the case are revealed in the media over the next weeks and months. In the meantime lets make sure we are teaching our kids about the responsibility of living in community and caring about others. God forbid that any of the students have to live with the knowledge that they could have prevented the suicide, or with the knowledge that they helped cover up such a heinous crime.
