Small Grass Fire Off 101 'First Of Many' to Come

Gilroy firefighters quickly extinguished a small grass fire that flared up near the Tenth Street onramp to Highway 101 around 1 p.m. Monday, and one responder said it probably wouldn’t be the last this season.

“This is our first of many anticipated small grass fires,” said Cliff Colyer of the Gilroy Fire Department.

Firefighters responded to the call within minutes.
