Suspect Skips the Pump and Siphons Diesel Instead

Updates from the most recent press report of the Gilroy Police Department.

A locking gas cap wasn’t enough to prevent the theft of fifty gallons of diesel fuel from a vehicle on Tuesday, according to the Gilroy Police Department.

At $4.25 a gallon, the theft on Engle Way at 6:30 p.m. added up to $212.50. That’s not counting the gas cap itself, worth another $50, police said.

This is one of the crimes listed in the most recent  press report. The police department releases regular reports describing recent incidents within the city.
