Taxi Driver Robbed in Early Morning Stickup

Two suspects held an object to the back of the taxi driver's head and demanded money.

A Golden Taxi driver was robbed early Wednesday morning while making a 2 a.m. stop at 7250 Monterey St. to fetch two suspects.

Once at the intersection of Rogers Lane and Hoover Court, the driver pulled over to allow the suspects to climb into the vehicle. Upon entering the vehicle, he was greeted with an unknown object pointing at the back of his head, according to a media release by the Gilroy Police Department.

The suspects then began to demand money from the driver, and removed cash from his wallet and all of his pockets.

The suspects ultimately fled from the taxi with an undisclosed amount of cash and took off running toward Rogers Lane, the release reads. 

The victim then drove to the 7200 block of Monterey Street and called the police.

Suspect number one is described as a Hispanic male adult, approximately 21 years old. He was wearing a read baseball cap, black flannel shirt and blue jeans at the time of the robbery.

Suspect two is described as a Hispanic female, approximately 19 years old. She was seen wearing a black flannel jacket and tight jeans.
