Teen Arrested for Downtown Gang Stabbing

On June 19 at approximately 8:16 p.m., Gilroy Police Officers responded to the St. Louise Regional Hospital Emergency Room for a report of a stabbing victim that had been transported by a private party. The victim walked into the emergency room with a single non-life threatening stab wound to his upper body. He was later transported to a south bay area trauma center for additional treatment. 

The victim, a 17-year-old Gilroy boy, reported that the incident occurred in or about the 200 Block of 10th Street. Officers responded to this particular area and secured a crime scene. 

Responding officers determined that identity of the suspect and arrested him a short time later approximately a quarter mile away. He was found to be a 16 year-old boy from Gilroy. 

This incident may have been motivated by gang affiliation and has been assigned the Anti-Crime Team.
