Watsonville Man Leads Gilroy Police On High-Speed Chase

Parolee flips SUV, is transported to local hospital.

A Watsonville man was arrested Saturday afternoon after leading Gilroy police on a high-speed vehicle pursuit.

Christian Rodriguez, 21, a parolee, evaded police after officers attempted to make a traffic stop when he was spotted exiting the Econo Furniture parking lot at 7390 Monterey St. at a high rate of speed. 

The pursuit ended in the 9200 block of Wren Avenue when Rodriguez's green-colored SUV left the roadway rolling several times.

Rodriguez was ejected from the vehicle and was transported to a Bay Area hospital.

During the initial investigation, it was determined that alcohol or a controlled substance may have played a roll in the altercation.
