Caltrain Board Postpones Vote on Cuts

The board will likely vote on the new budget during its next meeting on May 5.

Caltrain's board of directors Thursday postponed voting on a set of proposed service cuts and fare hikes intended to save the agency from financial disaster.

The Peninsula Corridor Joint Powers Board voted unanimously Thursday afternoon at its meeting in San Carlos to put off the vote on the money-saving measures for two weeks.

Bay Area residents packed the board's meeting room and an overflow room to voice their opinions on the proposed changes, which include the suspension of service at the Capitol, Hayward Park and Bayshore stations.
