COUNCIL PREVIEW: Council to Review Revisions to Santa Clara Valley Habitat Plan

Also on the agenda, the city will consider an election-focused ethics program.

Among the highlights at Monday's Gilroy City Council meeting will be a review of the proposed revisions to the Santa Clara Valley Habitat Plan, created to identify areas of land occupied by endangered and threatened animal species that could potentially be built on.

Under new business, there will be a vote on implementing an election-focused ethics program. Four amendments to the city's existing campaign finance ordinance were proposed, among other things.

Some of the proposals include a requirement of full disclosure, detailing all campaign contributions of any amount received, the establishment of a campaign contribution cut-off date of 11 days prior to each election and a requirement for statements to include all contributions up to the 11-day pre-election cutoff date.
