Deadline Approaches to Join Development Standards Task Force

The newly formed group will examine the city's development standards.

The deadline is fast approaching to join a new task force that could affect the fundamental rules determining the look and feel of a future Gilroy.

The 11-member Development Standards Task force, a group composed of city officials, developers, residents and experts, will spend one year meeting and reviewing the development standards affecting issues like sidewalk width and building setbacks.

  • Two residential developers
  • One commercial/industrial developer
  • One environmental community member
  • Two community members at large

The group is expected to meet publicly at least once every month and to complete their review in one year.

Applications are due by Tuesday, Sept. 13. The Gilroy City Council will interview the applicants on Sept. 19.
