Find out where and when you can meet Don Gage and talk Gilroy over coffee.

Al Pinheiro is no longer the mayor of Gilroy, but one of his traditions is carrying over to the new head honcho.

Don Gage has vowed to continue the tradition of holding Coffee with the Mayor meetings in the council chambers at Gilroy City Hall.

The first two meetings of 2013 have been scheduled for Jan. 19 and March 2, both at 9:30 a.m.

The meetings "provide an additional, informal setting in which the mayor can answer questions and otherwise engage in specific or broad discussions on city issues with Gilroy residents," the City wrote in a Patch announcement.

Gage was elected in November, earning over 50 percent of the vote from Gilroy residents. He last served as Gilroy Mayor from 1991-1997.

Outgoing Mayor Pinheiro introduced Gage at his final Coffee with the Mayor in November, where according to Patch blogger Mark Perkel, who attended, Gage "started out with a great speech that I wish I had recorded because it was so good."
