Parent Volunteers Wanted for Gilroy High Accreditation Review

Parent volunteers have a chance to voice their opinions during Gilroy High School's 18-month accreditation review.

Gilroy High School's regular 18-month accreditation review will happen Monday and Tuesday, and Principal Marco Sanchez welcomes the views of all parents of Gilroy High students. Sanchez asks parents to contact him to voice their thoughts about Gilroy High School.

The Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) review is a set protocol that helps each school examine its goals, successes and failures. Susie Chow, former WASC commissioner, said, "The greatest value of the WASC protocol is that it ensures equity and fairness to all students in all schools."

Chow said, "Parents, teachers, staff members and students participate in a process that enables them to critically self-examine their school plan, set their own goals and assess if their goals are reached."
