Get Out: Plays, Open Mic and Winery Performance

There's lots of music happening around town this weekend plus stagings by two Gilroy theater companies.

Where/When: , 7341 Monterey St. Friday and Saturday, 7:00 p.m.

Why Go: This "serious comedy" kicks off the acting troupe's 2012 season. A play with something everyone can relate to—marriage, aging and family—ATA takes the stage every Friday and Saturday through March 10.

Open Mic Night

Where/When: , 7430 Monterey St. Friday, 8:00 p.m.

Why Go: 9 Lives has a booked nearly every night of the week, but it's refreshing when local talent gets the spotlight. Musicians will be playing acoustic sets and other acts, like spoken word and comedy, are welcome to perform.

Pintello Comedy Theater Presents "Rumors"

Where/When: Gilroy Grange Hall, 8191 Swanston Lane. Friday and Saturday, 8:00 p.m. Sunday, 2:00 p.m.

Why Go: Comedic complicaitons arise as mystery swirls in this classic Neil Simon farce. Sunday's show is the only matinee of this play's Friday-Saturday run through Feb. 25.

Where/When: Gilroy Bowl, 7554 Monterey St. Friday and Saturday, 9:30 p.m.-12:00 a.m.

Why Go: With the death of a famous singer this last week, some might feel inspired to belt out a few of her greatest hits. While not everyone can hit the notes of "I Will Always Love You," all can feel like pop stars at the Gilroy Bowl.

Rachel Barrentine Concert

Where/When: , 4525 Hecker Pass Hwy. Friday, 7:00 p.m.

Why Go: Award-winning singer-songwriter Barrentine is best known for her sweet melodies and touching lyrics. She's a religious singer who channels her faith into her music. Guitarist Kevin Toqe will also be featured.
